Historic Property Hotels

Many hotels are in very old buildings which are a pleasure to look at and stay in. however, these days people are converting old historic buildings which were not originally built as hotels in order to use an old building. Some of them are very tastefully restored and refurbished and can be a real pleasure to stay in.

In the UK many churches lie derelict because of a lack of interest in religion in that particular area. This means that property developers are buying them up and either turning them in to houses or hotels. It can be very interesting to have a look and see how these properties have been converted and how they look once they have been changed. There are also a lot of old châteaus in France which have been converted to holiday houses, whether hotels or self catering and these can be very impressive as well.

Some properties are old large houses, towers or castles and it can be lovely staying in one of these old historic buildings. It can have a lot of character and if the rooms have been converted carefully then they may have lovely features and furnishings which all blend in with the building. It can really make the stay memorable if the building is great too.

Some buildings have a theme and all of the rooms follow that theme, usually something which matches with the theme of the original building. They might feature a particular artists work or have a collection of different works. Much better than some of the bland hotel pictures that you can get.

It is a good idea to find out all about the hotel before you book it as if it is all in a particular style and you do not like it, then you might be disappointed with the place. But plan carefully and you should find that you can have a fantastic stay.
